Really helpful and friendly staff. Room covers everything you need. Right in the middle of Barnard Castle so perfect location. We had a lovely stay, thanks.
Real 'down to earth' locals pub - lovely double room (single occupancy) overlooking main street - one of the best I've stayed in. Room only basis but I wouldn't hesitate to go back.
For the price I paid this room was fantastic. Well equipped, very clean, nicely decorated and recently renovated by the look of it. The shower was really powerful which was nice.
I managed to find a free parking spot just on the opposite side of the road too.
We arrived to find there was cobwebs on the walls, no toilet roll holder, UHT milk 2 months out of date, slime coming out of the shower head, waste bin still had rubbish in from previous clients, radiator pipes covering falling off, ceiling light full of flies etc.
The shower head was growing some kind of mould/fungus. Really gross. General cleanliness was pretty poor. And loud music until midnight on Saturday meant there was no possibility of sleeping before then.
On arrival the radiator wasnt working so the lovely host moved rooms and couldnt do enough to make sure i was ok. Then threw in a couple of free beers. The staff working literally couldnt do enough to help
