Location can't be beat. Rooms are very small with hardly enough room for 2 suitcases. Building is very old and not particularly clean or well kempt. Rooms are clean though. They have a shortage of staff who are very nice but it took forever to check in. Rates are pricey for what you get. I will not stay here again!

Room was clean, the free daily breakfast was good. The hotel needs upgrading. The elevator was broken when I arrived. There was no one to greet us on arrival to explain the elevator situation and we had to drag out suitcases up 4 flights of stairs to the reception area for check in. When we got there the am receptionist never apologized for the broken elevator, she was cold and went through her speech about payment. Disappointing after a 9 hrs flight. Also, there were no keycards for the room. We had to return and pick up the one physical key attached to a piece of wood every time we left the hotel which was annoying when we had two people coming and going. I will not stay here again.

My stay at the Hotel Continental Barcelona was wonderful. The hotel interior is beautiful, the staff was so fridndly, helpful and kind. The buffet provided a good selection of food and beverages. I especially liked the breakfast. I celebrated my birthday while stsying there and found a bottle of champagne 🍾 and glasses for my entire party in my room. How above and beyond is that! I highly recommend this hotel for ambiance, amenities, location, and care fir the guests. This is a winner!
