Fontanella was perfect for our stay in Barcelona! The location is so convenient for accessing everything we wanted to see, the staff was very helpful and friendly and the room was comfortable and clean! Only downside was how small the room was but we knew that beforehand and it had everything we needed with a great little balcony and view of the street.

Ideal location. Last minute business trip so expectations weren’t high. Room was clean and suitable for a couple of days. A bit of noise from the corridors so bring ear plugs if you’re a light sleeper. Good food spots nearby and close to the metro which is easy to use too.

You can’t beat the location, easy access to all the best areas Barcelona has to offer, we loved the most being close to the Gothic Quarter and to Parc de la Ciutadella(also the subway station just accross). The staff was a bit not welcoming (except for the night shift, he was great and very accommodating and helpful ) our room was being cleaned when we arrived and we have asked if we can check in earlier if possible, the person at front desk told us we can come back in an hour..hour and a half to check in, when we have returned- there was another person at front desk and he completely denied us to enter the room even though it was already cleaned and we have our key, he was quite rude and didn’t want to hear what the other person had said before and told us to come back after 3pm. (I guess you are getting what you’re paying for). The walls are thin, you can hear everything and rooms not big, but it was ok, since we were not staying this much in room except to sleep and shower. They have also painted rooms in white, so no more green. Location and convenience were the best.

The Building has no indication that it is a hotel. You wouldn't know it unless you know the address. There is no lobby as the hotel part of this building starts on the 4th floor. The absolute worst part was the elevator did not work, so had to carry 2 full bags up 4 floors. the our room was 1 more up on the 5th floor. this was a brutal walk up and down for older folks like us. Staff was nice, thankfully and the room was clean.

I had one of the worst experiences at Fontanella Green House, especially considering this was my final night before an early morning flight. I specifically chose this place because it advertised having an elevator, which was important for us with luggage. However, the elevator had clearly been out of service for a long time, and we had to carry our bags up four floors. What made this worse was that the day before arrival, I was still instructed via message to use the elevator — while in reality, it was under full construction. The situation inside the property was even more disappointing. Our room was located right next to the reception area, and there was constant loud noise from construction work — including drilling — as they were apparently trying to fix the elevator. This made it impossible to rest. Throughout the night, there was also continuous noise from the reception area, with people talking loudly and frequent disturbances from guests coming and going. There was absolutely no sound insulation, and every noise carried directly into the room. Since we had to wake up at 6 AM for our flight, getting proper rest was essential, but this stay made that impossible. This property is misleading in its listing and completely unsuitable for anyone who values rest, especially before an early flight. I would not recommend staying here.
