We loved our stay. The location was perfect - easy walking distance to downtown and just a short walk from the Bar Harbor trail sandbar that is only passable at low tide. The staff were great and the savory and sweet breakfast options were delicious! Plus the water pressure in the shower was fantastic! Would definitely stay again.

The Sand Bar Cottage is an EXCELLENT choice. It is perfectly located and a great establishment. Chris the manager is incredibly personable and knowledgeable about the area. The rooms were comfortable and well maintained. Breakfast was 5 stars. Stay here!

I cannot say enough about this property! From the amazing staff, to the fine details, this is hands down one of my favorite places we’ve stayed…EVER! I loved that gf breakfast was an automatic option. The room was so spacious, and decorated with so much care. Chris, the owner talked to us at breakfast, and is so down to earth. He’s got a great thing going, and we’ll be back for sure!!!

Fantastic FULL breakfast—coffee, tea, juice, muffins, and a gourmet entree each morning. Our room was in the back “secondary” house on the second floor. The location was great, very walkable to town. Loved the live music on Friday and Saturday nights in the garden. We would definitely return!

This is a charming place to stay in the picturesque Bar Harbor area. We were there for four nights. The room was fantastic, clean, spacious, and the bed was very comfortable. The real winning touches here are the little details and efforts made by the staff. A fireplace that often has a welcoming fire, tea time complimentary cakes and punch, scrumptious breakfasts, and an occasional offer of live music out on the grounds. I would recommend this place for anyone who is hoping to catch that B & B/independent old inn kind of vibe during their stay in Bar Harbor.

Our (my husband and I) stay at the Sand Bar Cottage Inn was truly awesome. The property itself was so charming. Our room was in a separate building and was spacious and comfortable. It was very quiet. Our daily breakfasts were so delicious -- one option was savory - like a sausage frittata and the other sweet - like banana foster pancakes. Truly, the breakfast was a highlight of our day. The location could not have been better. Just a quick walk to main street and the harbor. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We will definitely stay here again when our plans bring us back to Bar Harbor.

Chris and the staff were excellent: professional yet friendly and very helpful. Breakfast: delicious, made to order, generous portion. Snacks, tea and coffee: they are very generous with food all day. Room: we chose room 7. It might be smaller than other rooms in the house, but we love the quirkiness of the room. Typical NE room, small space, but full of cool nooks and cranies. Full of amenities in the room and bathroom. Love the sitting. Walking distance: a 5-7 walk to the water, park, and restaurants. There's a nice path along the water, great stroll. Great view of the different islands.
