I have stayed here several times dating back to when it was the Standard Hotel. This property is in serious decline. Our room was absolutely filthy when we checked in. We were moved to another room on a different floor twice to rooms that were just as filthy. Elevators are horrendous - filthy and in serious need of maintenance. Would not stay there again - plenty of other great places to stay. Sad to see this property in disrepair

The biggest plus of this somewhat outdated hotel on our visit was the staff, unfailingly bright and helpful. Our room, though reasonably well maintained, lacked basic amenities that most chain motels have, such as up-to-date USB connectors bedside (or even power plugs close to the bed; we had to pull out the mattress to plug in our own multi-port travel adapters). Relatively low room rates do include free parking at a multilevel structure a half block away, and there's no "resort fee" to pad the room rates. Be aware that in the summer heat the rooftop pool has no shade (but plenty of poolside cover). And it took the air-conditioning a couple of hours to cool down from 80°F to a more comfortable level in our room. Another small annoyance: the icemaker was gone on our floor, and was awkward to use to fill the plastic bags in the food cooler we rely on for rod trips.
