The Caribou Gem motel is absolutely the CLEANEST we have ever stayed in. The beds were very comfortable.

The room was clean the bed comfy. check in was strange had to call them for code and cell service isn’t great. The train though every hour or so blaring the horn made sleep almost impossible

Very comfy beds and newly remodeled room interior. One thing they forgot however is a dinette set. A kitchen without a place to eat your tasty vitals makes no sense.

24th celebration

I love the proximity to lava and the ability to cook in the room. You may just want to run a hair snake down the shower drain. I love this place and I’m already planning my next trip there.

Check in great. They called me when we were coming in late giving instructions to get in room. Got in late. Older property. Walked across floors with white socks. Socks were dirty from floors. Room was ok otherwise. Beds were comfortable. Shower pressure nice. Not a bad stay for the money, just older property.

I loved the setup of this room. I would have preferred a king but they were all booked… the only complaints I have are the train right next to the property and the front doors were really hard to open and close. Other than that it was clean quiet (besides the train) and it was a much homier feel ran than hotel feel. I’d definitely stay here again and we had a good trip!

Very clean - extremly small - could have used a second chair to avoid all but one from having to stand - very handy for a tiny community like Bancroft - no local dining facility - had to travel to next community to eat or buy groceries

I was surprised to see we had a kitchen in our unit. Made it great to feed the kids& i appreciated that one of the beds was in a room. There is no heating in the bathroom so it got pretty cold in there but other than that our stay was great. I would recommend some better seating, my father in law is old& was uncomfortable when we were around the table. The unit was very clean& provided what we needed for the night

Would definitely stay here again

The rooms are super cute and you can park right by the door to your room. It’s a super small town with no amenities so make sure you have everything you need. The kitchenette was stocked and nice to have, it was tucked in the corner with plenty of space in the rest of the room.

The outside is deceiving. The inside is cute, remodeled and cozy. Our deadbolt wouldn’t lock (room 7) and we didn’t like that but it was a good place to stay passing through. There is no front desk but you just call the number from online and they tell you what to do.

The train can be quite annoying, but the location and price were great if you are wanting to go to Lava and aren't looking to camp. Check in was a bit confusing, as there is no on site office, but staff answered quickly and were very helpful. The full kitchen was a great feature and all amenities were up to date. Having a roku in the room was a great feature for my kids. I wish it was easier to get new towels and soaps. Otherwise, I would give it 5 stars.

When we arrived at the hotel, I was initially disappointed by the outside appearance. I called the number to check in. A lady showed up quick and got us our key. Inside, the rooms were nice and clean. It was well taken care of and comfortable. There is a complete kitchen. Fridge, stove, microwave, sink, and stocked with utensils, plates and cups. I would have liked a larger tv but that was not that big of an issue.
