The hotel is dated in places but they do seem to be doing upgrades. The rooms are basic but have everything you need. The room did get a little hot at night so the fan provided was useful. The staff were amazing I cannot fault them in any way

We had a lovely room in main building, staff are so helpful & friendly, everyone has a smile on their face. Lovely cooked breakfast which set us up each day on our short stay. It's a great base to visit the surrounding areas.

Room was comfortable, and so was the bed. Bedroom doors are designed to self-close with a thud, so you are disturbed while trying to go to sleep and again early in the morning. Breakfast sufficient but unremarkable. Quite wide variety of tea, but only Earl Grey (which I don't like) and decaff among "real" teas, all the others being peppermint, green, lemongrass, various flowers, etc.

Within walking distance of shops, pubs and restaurants so perfect location with free parking. We stayed in a very comfortable suite lots of space to relax and lovely view over the garden. Very quiet at night and a good selection of food for breakfast hot and cold. Will definitely stay again.

A beautiful hotel with well‑trained staff, but I don’t understand how guests are expected to stay there without air conditioning on hot days like 23–24 June. I have stayed a couple of times and I genuinely like the hotel and the staff, but I believe the hotel should not operate during very hot days if adequate cooling is not provided.
