“We were a family of 3 plus a cockapoo staying in The Tweed. The room was perfect for us. Loved the decor and attention to detail. It was nice to sit in the sun in the morning in the little garden with a coffee and listen to the birds. We had dinner and breakfast in the pub. The food was ok but the service could have been better. We booked in advance and were seated straight away but we found nobody came over to ask if we wanted drinks and we ended up having to stand in the queue at the bar....

“From Wendy, Nicola and Jude on the front desk, who helped us so much with our car problems and extra nights to be arranged, to the bar and restaurant staff we say thank you for your care and courtesy. The cheerful cleaning staff and the thoes in the kitchens who supplied delicious food. We loved our stay and will highly recommend this hotel to thoes looking for an upmarket venue with a great vibe.”

“This is an institution but honestly I'd rather have a drink here and sleep elsewhere. The staff were very kind and helpful. It was mainly that because of the awesome pub it is noisy until pretty late. More from people on the street going in an out than the pub itself. It was pretty warm so I needed to leave the window open for some air. It is in the middle of town and safe and clean though, only the partiers were a problem but I was there on a Friday night.”

“We had a lovely stay at the Oaks. The staff were all very helpful, and the food was delicious in the bar in the evening, and the breakfast was also great! The car park was always busy, but we were always able to find a space.”

“The property is in a lovely setting and as the sun was shining we enjoyed an evening glass of wine on the patio looking over the gardens and tipi. The restaurant, public areas and the bedrooms were all pristine and food of a great standard, when in the area we would definitely stay again.”
