Wonderful hotel near Balmoral with comfortable rooms and staff definitely represented the classic highland hospitality! Great welcome and restaurant on grounds with cozy lobby area near a roaring fireplace. Staff gave great recommendations of the area. Will definitely stay again!

I loved the ambiance of this hotel and the convenient location. We loved the breakfast selection and should have eaten at the hotel restaurant for supper instead of the one we chose. The only drawback was that I didn't realize there was no elevator. However, a staff member volunteered to take our luggage to our room. Everyone here was nice and helpful.

We loved our stay in the Balmoral Arms. The food was delicious (breakfast and evening meals) and the staff were lovely. Our room was very comfortable and the large lounge had lots of places to sit and relax. While there were no parking spaces left outside the door there was a large free car park close by, along with local shops and cafes. Great place to stay and hopefully we will return.

The food is great but very expensive, although Ballater is an expensive place to stay. Evening meal and bar lovely, breakfast amazing. Nice feel to the hotel, very traditional and cosy. We stayed in a standard room, which is basic. Mattress and pillows felt cheap, it overlooked properties but there was no net curtain to offer privacy, dusty, TV had no apps to log into, noise from downstairs clearly audible, door in the hallway made a creaking noise. We were pretty disappointed as the next level was almost double.
