Very nice and modern accommodation, close to the river, you can see the river from your bed and balcony A super breakfast basket will be brought to your room. As there is no bar or breakfast room you will be on your own, not really a place to get in touch with other travelers. Next supermarket and restaurants are far away (20 minutes), there is no promenade with bars or a village center. However we enjoyed 2 nights relaxing on our own.

Very relaxing stay.

This property is really well managed and cared for. The view from the bungalow we stayed in was beautiful and made the stay very special. Breakfast is delivered daily and was very good. We ate in each evening, facilities worked well for this. Pool was really nice and clean and lots of lounging options.

Absolutely beautiful location in the valley. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast is delicious and plentiful. Staff were lovely and very helpful, especially with confirming reservations for activities in the area. Highly recommend!

What an amazing place, with a magnificent view. Friendly and welcoming personnel. Breakfast was very good and served in the room - bread still warm. This is highly recommended.

This was a lovely, newer property, with a beautiful view of the river. Amenities were as reported - the pool was nice and the breakfast basket was really a treat. The staff was extremely nice and accommodating. Five of us were very comfortable in the large suite.

Lovely new rooms and great breakfast. The ladies on reception are lovely. Kept awake most of the night by a dog barking on the final night which was a real shame as we loved our stay. I would also suggest some harder pillows in the room.

Great stay!

Spectacular. The hotel itself is beautiful, rooms are spacious and clean, bathroom is big and luxurious. We arrived early hoping to drop off our things but were allowed to check in early which we appreciated. Anna at the front desk was very helpful when we tried to make last minute reservations for wineries and had good suggestions for local establishments. Breakfast was served to the room and included eggs, cheese, fruit, sweets - everything you can dream of! We had a great time and would love to come back

Portovella is truly a unique and outstanding accomodation. The property itself is absolutely magnificient: Spectacular infinity pool, super spacious high-standard appartments with great views on the Douro river. But what really makes the difference is the staff. They take perfect care of absolutely everything, indoor and outdoor areas are spotlessly clean, they prepare breakfast for you at the time of your preference, and if you have a special wish they make it possible! Overall, this is a 5 star experience without any limitations!
