The entire stay was wonderful from the second we were picked up from the ferry! (Which by the way is a great amenity especially since this hotel is a bit of a walk up hill from the main city street and all you have to do is call and tip). All staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and very spacious! You can’t beat the views all around the hotel. Pool was relaxing. Breakfast was delicious and in the weekend had a waffle and omelet station that the chef cooked for us! Karl set up the outdoor fire pit for us which was lovely to sit by at night. We stayed in the colonial king suite and was perfect.

Loved the location of this property with amazing views all round. Our rooms were gorgeous, very spacious, and again with amazing views over the ocean and hills. The rooms also had great character. I found the buffet breakfast to be a little disappointing, considering the price of the hotel, though the freshly prepared omelets were very good. The shuttle service up and down the hill worked fine for our party of four and anyone with reasonable mobility can handle the walk down the hill without using the shuttle. I would definitely stay here again!

For us, they gave exactly what was shown in the photos when we booked, and the ocean view was amazing. Room 106 has the best view! The staff were excellent and very accommodating. They also offer a free shuttle, which is very convenient since the hotel is located on a mountain. Definitely coming back!

The hotel itself is very cool with fantastic views of Avalon. Our room was nice and well maintained. The hotel offers convenient golf cart service to/from the ferry port as well as downtown. However, our experiences with the front desk staff left a lot to be desired. Their patience seemed low, they offered little information without prying, and there were a couple of mistakes that created inconvenience and issues for us. Given its relative lack of competition on the island, it's still one of the best places to stay. But for the price, it has not earned an enthusiastic recommendation from our group.
