We have stayed here before so we know what to expect. It's an older hotel and requires a lot of maintenance. Our small cottage was clean but small. It had a small kitchen so we were able to prepare breakfast. The kitchen was not well equipped but the front desk provided the items we needed. It was quiet and the bed comfortable and it has a great location. The price while not inexpensive is lesser priced than other Avalon properties. I don't know if I'd stay here again but not taking it out either.

This is a very old hotel, most likely a rooming house back in the day. So while everything was clean, it was a bare-bones room (2 double beds). The shower worked well but had little room to move around in. There was no place to set luggage on or hang anything on other than a hook over the bathroom door. I understand the minimal space allows barely enough room to walk around in, but a small bench to set luggage on would help. The air conditioner and fan worked well.

I thought the standard queen cottage was great for the price. It was the cheapest place I could find that still felt light and had slightly more modern furniture. Overall pretty good for the price. Bed was comfy, or room was ready right when we arrived in the island, Ac was great, perfect size room for 2. Only complaints would be the shower is a little small and the walls/paint don’t look the cleanest but honestly really didn’t affect our stay at all. The shower does change to cold water out of no where some time but if you aren’t in there too long it’s fine. They provide beach towels as well if you need them. I would definitely stay here again in the cottages. All Catalina stays are expensive and not very updated so that is your best expected this was a great option for an affordable stay. Walking distance to everything especially nice if you don’t have a golf cart/bike to get around. And having a mini fridge and microwave was great.

Our room was on the smaller side but it worked for us since we didn’t spent much time there. The room had a microwave and fridge which was very convenient for us. There was a small shelf we were able to use as a table but we made the small space work for us. The AC worked well and kept our room cool. The location was also perfect for our weekend trip. I would stay here again.

Absolutely loved my stay at Hermosa Hotel. Was comfy and cozy and a lot of room for solo travel. Hotel was in a perfect spot in town that made it easy to get around & access everything on the island. Can’t wait to go back!!
