Clean but basic and dated and although we had a supposed smoke free room it smelled very smokey which almost made me just cut our losses and leave. Someone asked for a cigarette on the way in. Looks like most people here are rooming as more of a temp housing or long term stay. The fridge was open when we went in. You have to really slam the door or it pulls open. Check in was easy and the two at the desk were nice. It served it's purpose. Its close to Darien lake and there are some cute stores and nice country roads nearby.

I like to stay and small, privately owned motels as opposed to the impersonal chains. I'm happy when I find one I like, and I really like The Attican. My room was very clean and quiet. The beds were great and the shower had excellent water pressure. I will be staying there my next visit to the area.

We stayed at the Attican Motel while spending the day at Darien Lake and seeing a concert that night. It is only a 15 minute drive away. The motel sits on a hill above the main road, so it was pretty quiet. The photos don’t really do it justice and it looks even nicer in person. It’s a quaint family-run establishment and care has been taken to keeps things up to date for the most part. We were very comfortable here. Two things you’ll want to be prepared for though: 1) A $50 deposit is required at check-in. Bring cash because if you use a card, you only get $40 back. 2) The air conditioner works well, but is very old and noisy. Ear plugs are recommended if you’re going to use it.

The hotel was not worth the $268 we paid, due to the property being extremely outdated. At first glance the room was clean, but there were hairs in the bed and on the pillow case. As for convenience, it is 13 minutes away from the Darien Amphitheater and Six flags so there’s that. The staff is very friendly and they have an adorable ring neck parrot. I would stay here again, but not at that rate.
