The American was a very nice stay. The staff were so polite and professional. From valet attendance front desk and the maintenance staff, everyone was welcoming and kind. Dinner was also so delicious at the restaurant. Bartender did his big one. Awesome stay and will for sure be back. I also loved the history of the building on display as well as the decor of the facility.

Saw roaches outside the room across the hall from us as we were leaving. It wasn’t a filthy room, but for what we paid, it should have been pristine. Room was supposed to overlook the pool, in overlooked a roof and a large HVAC unit instead. The staff was lovely, and we had no trouble coming and going. Check-in was super easy.

The history of the hotel is what makes it wonderful. The front desk people were very nice and the valet service was professional and on point. Sadly, my room was not cleaned more than once during my five-night stay and I had to bag up my own garbage, which was very disappointing. Other than short of staff, this hotel is fairly nice and the historical piece is extraordinary.
