Good location, rooms clean, the major problem I encountered was how loud everything is, let me explain… I could hear people walk by , I could hear people from other rooms talking, one night some people were laughing so hard and talking throughout the night that I COULD NOT sleep that night , so that night was terrible. But still is a decent location, I felt safe, it was clean and cheap so if you are on a budget this is a decent choice.

Cecil Hotel is good value for money, no frills. It is situated at 5 minutes walk from Monastiraki Square and metro station. It is on the busy, bustling Athinas Street, which is fascinating and authentic. The hotel is quiet, spotlessly clean and secure. The area is safe. I have stayed in Cecil Hotel several times.

We stayed at Cecil Hotel for one night. The room was very clean and comfortable, even a little more roomy than European standards. We only interracted with one front desk person and one cleaning technician during our stay. Both were lovely, and initiated conversation. The location really can't be beat. A quick walk to all of the areas that visitors tend to go. From our window we could see right down the main street to the Monastiraki Square with the Acropolis looking over it. I don't know that I would stay here for a stay of more than a few days. There is a refrigerator on each floor to be shared by everyone staying on that floor. Wouldn't have wanted to keep medication or anything large in it. But, not a deal breaker for our needs.
