“There was plenty of parking and the staff were friendly. Unfortunately the first room I was given had clearly not been cleaned and had cobwebs and numerous spiders which had clearly not been disturbed by any cleaning. The second room I was given had someone’s umbrella left in it and a very dubious white stain on the throw on the bed. Although this was sorted out I was not impressed with the poor cleanliness or that I had to ask for the throw and umbrella to be removed. There isn’t a restaurant...

“Considering there is no face to face contact, we still felt very well looked after and had good instructions on gaining access. The building is lovely and well looked after. Exceeded expectations.”

“The room was basically dirty & scruffy. Linen & towels ok but the floor needed vacuuming & bathroom floor around skirting looked like had never been cleaned. Staff seemed stretched & too busy, most of the dinner menu was sold out & my partners poached eggs on toast resembled hard boiled eggs on toast as overdone. The pub is in a great location & my overall stay was not awful but should have been better. The room was only £65 so wasn't expecting the Ritz but expected a clean room without flaking...

“The rooms were clean, the parking is great and if you travel by train its opposite the station. There is no food options for dinner, but you can order in and sit in the dinning room, which is lovely and charming. I love this hotel. I think its run for and by YMCA(but could be wrong).”

“very clean and quiet room, nice soft towels, comfortable bed and a quiet fan was provided in the room as we stayed during a very hot spell. The owners were really friendly and helpful, and very kindly offered us the room for a couple of hours longer after check out as we were attending a funeral that morning and wanted to change afterwards. We really appreciated their thoughtfulness. Definitely recommend staying here.”
