We were 24 hour flight delay back home to Dallas and so I made reservations for Aschaffenburg, Germany. This little hotel has 39 rooms, two dining rooms and the best hosts I have ever had the opportunity to meet. The rooms were very clean, comfortable and large. We had tea in the dining room, my husband entertained us on the keyboard and they catered to us as if we were royalty. Ready to go back. Don’t miss out on the gem of a place located across the street from the Johannesburg Castle. Beautiful place.

Very helpful young girl on reception, usually on duty late afternoon early evening. Managed to bag one of the last on site parking spaces. Small car park, maybe 8 spaces and very tight, so SUVs will be a problem. Room was fine if awkward L shape. At least had a sofa to sit on for two people. A/C worked well (was very hot) despite being around the corner from the beds. Beds comfortable but pillows awful (as they were throughout our road trip). Bathroom large, shower difficult to control in its holder (bath/shower combo). Small thin towels but nice toiletries. House keeping was good but often late in the day. Breakfast was not included in room rate but was reasonably priced. It wasn't lavish but would satisfy most tastes, things ran out quickly but were replenished if a bit slowly. There was no a/c in public areas so breakfast room was like a sauna. Hotel location is excellent, especially for the castle and roman villa reconstruction. It's also a short walk into the town centre which is very pleasant. Biggest problem here is no lift. We had to drag suitcases up and down flights of stairs to get to our room which was exhausting in the heat and there was no help available. Travel with little luggage if staying here!

The property is certainly an old school European style regional hotel. Small and quaint. The “executive business” room was more of a dorm room with a single twin bed. It had a safe, which was good, but the locks are keyed. Shower had good pressure and plenty of hot water. No microwave in room and minibar fridge was super small.

Sehr schönes Hotel in toller Lage Das Hotel hat eine wirklich sehr gute Lage und auch die Zimmer sind schön. Das Frühstück war prima, das Personal durchweg freundlich und die Zimmer wurden gut und sauber gemacht. Wenn man ganz genau hinschaut, findet man hier und da vielleicht eine Kleinigkeit – aber wirklich nichts Nennenswertes. Besonders angenehm fand ich die sehr gute Klimaanlage im Zimmer, gerade im Sommer ein großes Plus. Das Schloss und die Innenstadt sind schnell zu Fuß erreichbar. Wer problemlos Treppen steigen kann, kommt hier gut zurecht. Wer damit Schwierigkeiten hat, sollte am besten vorher kurz im Hotel Bescheid geben. Ein kleiner Tipp von mir als ehemalige Hausdame: Vielleicht wäre ein kleiner Wäschewagen eine gute Investition, damit die Wäsche beim Housekeeping nicht auf dem Boden oder auf der Fensterbank abgelegt werden muss. Das würde den ansonsten sehr guten Eindruck noch abrunden. Ich würde bei meinem nächsten Aufenthalt in Aschaffenburg definitiv wieder hier übernachten. Vielen Dank für die schöne Zeit und die herzliche Betreuung!
