Perfect food and good quality. Beef at dinner is simply gorgeous. Excellent staff hospitality l. Couldn't ask for anything better. Onsen a bit outdated and small with no massage bubbles, etc. Other than this all good.
Hotel has change owner recently thus name was changed. It provide free shuttle bus from asahikawa station return trip was a bonus. The room is abit dated. But outdoor onsen was great ! The buffet dinner and breakfast was better than my previous stay. The hotel is just beside the waterfall. If the room could be refurbish, it will be a fantastic stay. 2 nights dinner buffet was almost the same thus it will be good if different menu was provided.
Perfect place to visit Shirahige waterfall and blue pond. Property is quite old, but clean and convenient. Food is also good. Staff is fine. There is a free shuttle bus to see blue pond illumination at 7:30 pm.
This Ryokan is actually quite nice, the Onsen and Outside Bath beautiful along the River and you cam hear waterfall nearby. They had unfortuntely a serious staff shortage prob due to Covid and one elderly lady was in charge of the total dinner service for 20-40 people. As such food was mostly coldy. The quality of the arrangement and presentation was what to expect from Kaiseki dinner.
We reserved 2 rooms. The Japanese style was not well ventilated but still ok. However the Western style room was stink as there was no air conditioner and located in the basement near a sewage. The staff knew that we had big luggage but still offered a room far away with many staircases. The overall experience was not good and we shall not recommend it to any friends and relatives.

They gave us the worst possible room. It was a room with one flight of staircup, then one floor of stairs down with no elevators. When I noticed several empty rooms I asked if she could change the room and she said it will cost us extra 20,000 yens.
We had two suitcases to carry up and then down and no help was offered. I expected a bit more for the price I paid.
Meals were also just fine.
The hot springs temperature is very hot. The open air bath was better. However when I visited in the morning I noticed holes in the wall.
Unfortunately I would not recommend this location. If you already have a reservation, refuse any room from 121-130. They are the ones in the dungeon.
