This is an excellent option for those wanting to be surrounded by nature, high up in the Serra da Freita mountain. The hotel is right opposite the Frecha da Mizarela waterfall, one of the biggest in Portugal. That said, there are few facilities nearby, restaurants or shops, so be prepared to travel for food and drinks or other services. There are some beautiful sunsets to be seen, especially from the rooms that look out onto the road in front. The hotel is spotlessly clean and modern. Rooms are spacious with electric shutters. Breakfast is self service with a large choice of food. I found the breakfast seating area to be a bit crowded though. The bathroom lacks a place or unit to store toiletries, so I kept them on the armchair in the room. Overall, it's an excellent hotel.

Quick stay but amazing. Everything is clean and new. Super comfortable expensive bed and big bathtub. Nice mountain surroundings. Very quiet Breakfast is also good with egg and bacon, ham and cheese, would be better with some tomatoes or cucumbers The air quality is amazing. Even tap water is drinkable and very tasty Just remember to buy things you need, cause there is nothing around

Top score for the hotel. Clean. Good breakfest. Good service. The nature on top of Sierra Da Freita is just amazing ! But, we miss a restaurant for evening dinner. Far to drive to eat after you are tired walking all day in the mountains. Understand it could be a economical challenge. However we will definately stay there next time.

Amazing location and wonderful family hotel.

This is a beautiful boutique hotel run by a family. They prepare a delicious breakfast for all the hotel guests each morning. The area around the hotels has absolutely stunning views. There are a couple local restaurants they recommend and the food was delicious and very reasonably priced. This best prices of the 6 cities we visited in Portugal.

Great hotel with the best views and breakfast!

I rarely if ever leave reviews. But my stay in this family-owned hotel was so phenomenal that I feel I need to let the world know the great job the owners are doing. We loved everything - the room itself, location of the hotel (on top of a mountain with amazing views!), amazing amazing breakfast and most of all the hospitality of the family who owns the hotel. From the check-in, to personal advice on things to do in the area, to the excellent service at breakfast - we were blown away. Left with a warm feeling in our hearts and appreciation of the hard work this family is putting into treating their guests!

Great little spot on top of the mountain

The location of the hotel is magnificent. Staff were extremely friendly, even when we arrived late at night, and the breakfast was delicious. If I was staying longer, I might get one of the higher calibre rooms with a balcony and a mountain view, but for one night this was so reasonably priced and really comfortable. Strongly recommended.
