One night stay on the way to colca canyon. Hotel is in historic centre, 10min walk to plasa the armas. Even closer are some bars and restaurants with good music and food. Room was small but clean, breakfast excellent, staff helpful and pleasant. Perfect for several nights in arequipa. Recommended. a

Le mobilier extérieur offrait différents niveaux d'ensoleillement et de confort. Fauteuils, divans, chaises longues etc. La terrasse pour le déjeuner (petit déjeuner pour les français) était magnifique avec vue sur les monts enneigés. L'établissement a été rénové mais à quelques endroits les murs et les plafonds fendillent ou la peinture boursoufle. Ils devraient pouvoir corriger cela par un entretien continu.

Beautiful and friendly hotel

We spent a couple of days there and everything was perfect. We arrived early in the morning after spending the night on a bus and they offered hot drinks straight away. They prepared our room as soon as they could and we were allowed to check in earlier than expected so we could rest. Really nice touch on their side! The place is beautifully decorated with paintings and art and it feels like a high end hotel. Beds are very comfy, bathroom clean and shower powerful. Breakfast is good (they even go to the baker to get the delicious bread first thing in the morning before they sell them out). The location is good, in a quiet street, about 10 minutes walk from the main attractions. Great stay and highly recommended.

Great hotel close to the attractions

We had a lovely stay at El Portal de San Lazaro. It’s on a quiet street off the main road, and walkable to the Plaza and the attraction. Special mention to Israel the hotel manager, who gave us excellent restaurant recommendations and was a great host. Only issue we faced was that the hotel doesn’t have central heating, and nights were cold. They did give us extra blankets, though!

Great boutique hotel

Beautiful hotel with open architecture and multiple areas to sit and hang out outside with views of the three volcanoes. A steal at the price. 5 minute walk to the convent, 10 minute walk to the plaza de armas. Comfortable bed, plenty of hot water. Small room but with all the space outside the rooms did not mind this.

Nice hotel in central Arequipa

Really nice hotel, good location (walking distance to the plaza de Armas). You definitely get good value for the price. 24-hours reception and we could leave our luggage in the hotel while trekking in the Colca Canyon, which we really appreciated. The manager is very helpful as well if you'd like to get tips on trekking tours.
