Enjoyed the stay. Many stalls around the area, for picky eaters it was good that there were some comfort foods offered for breakfast aswell. I enjoyed trying new things but also hate to waste food so I’m glad the portions are small and that it’s buffet style.

The hotel location is not bad. Quite close to the station. The staff is very nice and friendly. However, you can tell the hotel itself is quite old in terms of style and dated. (But it’s very clean!) The room still has those very old design from late 90s and early 2000s

Nice Hotel 5 min walk away from Aomori Station. The interior looks a little bit dated, but you can see that it was upper quality decades ago and is still very good. Nice location with shopping and good restaurants around and close to some sightseeing spots. Hotel Staff is very friendly and helpful. If I would only compare it to hotels in that price range, I would have given 5 Stars, but since I also reviewed hotels way above this price range, it wouldn´t make sense. Never the less, I totally recommend this hotel.

Hotel JAL city is within walking distance of JR Aomori Station. There are other hotels in the same price range that are closer to the station. It normally wouldn’t be much of an issue, except when you encounter snowfall, like I did. But even so, the hotel is a fine establishment with an onsite restaurant that has a wonderful breakfast buffet.

The hotel was fine, but felt 'aimed at a target audience that doesn't include me.' Maybe someone a couple decades older would enjoy this place, though. **Positives: *Spacious room....if you're used to business hotel-sized rooms, anyhow. *The view from the window included a little bit of ocean. *The bathroom floor was level with the hallway, which is a pleasant surprise after getting used to the "step up/down" that is the usual business hotel bathroom. *Bed was comfortable for sleeping on and 'comfortable enough' for sitting on. *Shower was spacious enough to not bump my elbows into the walls, which is always a nice change of pace. **Neutral: *The AC was overly aggressive -- it was other 'a bit too cold' or it was muggy. High-quality problem though, I suppose. *I didn't try the in-hotel restaurant, but there was a fairly long line at 6:30am, so it's popular, if nothing else. **Negatives: *Check-in involved a hard-copy of some sort of check-in record, and waiting for the clerk to my find my record took longer than it needed to. It's 2026 -- computerize, man.

Restaurant on-site required reservation so could not dine there. Fortunately, the staff who handled our check-in gave us very good suggestions on where to dine as we reached the hotel after 8 pm. Complimentary water, apple juice and cookies were nice extras. Liquid soap, shampoo, etc., were good and produced locally. Beds and beddings were very comfortable

One night stay here. Staff friendly and helpful. Room comfortable and a good size compared to many hotel rooms in Japan. However the double bed was still up against the wall on one side which make for uncomfortable getting in and out of the bed for one occupant. This of course disturbs the other occupant. There were sufficient amenities in room. Wifi good. Walking distance to the shops and dining. However it felt odd that the dining room at night was reserved for guests of a certain tier. With heavy snow outside it would have been nice to dine in-house.
