The hotel is stunning and the staff are great. The internet is so bad it’s unusable though. You can’t even google something. So if you have to work on your trip it might not be the best? But other than that it was incredible!
This hotel boasts a stunning garden and an exceptional outdoor space. The staff is friendly and attentive, and the overall cleanliness of the premises is commendable. However, the hot water system is quite unreliable. We had to leave the tap running for about 13 minutes to achieve a lukewarm temperature.
Staff was great, bed was comfortable. Water in shower doesn't get very hot, not many useable outlets in the room, small lamp by bed didn't work, which would have been nice to have an option other than just the bright overhead, but nothing major. Courtyard is truly gorgeous and a beautiful place to sit with complimentary tea and a book in the evening.very easy walk to the busier parts of town but it is on the end of a quiet street, nice to be slightly away from the hustle for your home base
The hotel is very pretty and the pictures show that. But it's several blocks away from the main square which means walking over the rocky streets which we did several times a day - or renting a taxi or tut tut.
The morning breakfast was nice with coffee so you don't have to travel.
The beds were not too comfortable and I would give it an overall 6 out of 10.
We loved our stay at Hotel Genessis! The hotel is absolutely gorgeous, the pictures don’t do it justice. This hotel was one of the highlights of our time in Antigua. Staff was very friendly and helpful and available 24/7. The breakfast made to order each morning was absolutely delicious. The rooms were beautiful, clean, quiet, and comfortable. The beds were soft and the air conditioner worked wonderfully. There is also rooftop access with amazing volcano views and the interior of the hotel is just breathtaking. The hotel is a little outside of the center of town at a dead end street, so it’s very quiet. The location is still convenient and you can easily get to the center of everything in about a 15 minute walk or 5 minute Uber. I would definitely stay here again and was only disappointed that our stay here wasn’t longer!

Beautiful patio!
Basic hotel with pretty colonial flourishes. The central patio is exceptionally beautiful--too bad you can't sleep there in a hammock. Hotel breakfast is nothing to write home about--best part is the coffee, orange juice and Bundt cake. Be sure to take a shower very early in the morning as hot water is not dependable. No hotel restaurant or bar or pool. About 5 blocks from the main plaza.

The courtyard is gorgeous & obviously the main draw to the hotel. The location is also very walkable & relatively quiet at night. The staff has ok. Overall, I found the rooms to be dark, drab and a little bit depressing. I can’t quite say why I didn’t feel like they were cleaned well. Lastly, the breakfast was not great & they kept insisting on only putting out eggs with pork in it (I don’t eat pork so sucked for me). My stay was ok but not great… nothing like how IG portrays it!
