Perfect for a short break in a lovely location. Bed was very comfortable, shower excellent. Everywhere very clean and tastefully decorated. Breakfast was superb, really enjoyed the weekend.
Lovely hotel and helpful friendly staff. Stayed one night as attending a wedding nearby. Our room was comfy and clean, good shower though nowhere to put stuff in the bathroom. Crail is a lovely wee town.
We had a lovely stay at The Balcomie Links Hotel. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. We appreciated the ease of the location and parking close by. The beds were very comfortable and we were well rested the next morning. I would definitely recommend the Balcomie Links Hotel to other friends and travelers!
Nice hotel set at the edge of the town. Staff were very helpful and pleasant. Bedroom was modern and had a very comfortable bed. Nice bathroom but the floor needed cleaned properly.
This is a lovely hotel. It was a bit of a work in progress and may be complete by now. The proprietors were lovely. Our room was a bit cramped but others may be fine. The restaurant was nice and had a menu that varied from week to week. The breakfast was excellent.
There was no lift, so not really suitable for those with mobility issues.
Bedroom was good. Beds very comfy. Nice towels. Bathroom really small.
Only complaint was no marmalade available at breakfast.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Was Dissapointed to tell the truth.Bed was comfy room was clean. But rooms are basic and cold.Food was also a bit bland. Overpriced for what you get.
This was our favorite hotel of our 2 week UK trip. The room was modern and clean with sweeping views of the sea. We could see Isle of May from our bed. We had a top floor room and there was no noise at all. Comfortable bed.
The hotel breakfast was surprisingly good...perhaps the best Scottish breakfast we had the whole time there. We had one dinner in the restaurant, which was fine but nothing special.
The hotel is on the opposite side of town from the restaurants/shops, but it is a very pleasant 5-10 minute walk which didn't bother us in the least. There is a path that leads straight down from in front of the hotel to a beautiful coastal view and path.

Hoping for a warmer welcome
We found this hotel souless - the room was empty of anything soft and comfortable and the heating was off when we arrived and the window was open so it was cold and we had to go and arrange the heating be turned on at reception. The breakfast was average, the staff were okay, not unfriendly but not attentive either. For the money paid I think they need to up their game. I would not plan to go back.
Staff /owners were excellent and we would use again if in this area.
However, we would have preferred daily cleaning of our room. We stayed for a total,of 4 nights and no cleaning of our room was undertaken during that time. Towels are only changed on the 3rd day but we had to prompt this change as we did with the emptying of the bins. These matters were rectified immediately once we pointed it out but it appears no one is checking the rooms are being serviced.
The breakfasts were very good and the service from the staff re carrying luggage to room etc was very good too.
Car parking excellent.
As much hot water as you like, and the room was kept warm too.
This hotel has obviously had a lot of money spent on it by the owners over the last few years but small matters such as more towel hooks in the shower room are needed.
The towels and bedding were lovely and white and smelled nice and clean but it would have been nice to have the room cleaned daily eg mopping room floors and vacuuming the stairwells.
The bed was comfy but we had to make it up ourselves daily. Only our pillows were plumped up ! This wasn’t a deal breaker for us but so much more could be made of this hotel.
But we enjoyed our stay.
I felt it was a little over priced the dinner was if a good quality. The breakfast not so good. Comfortable room and clean. The staff were really pleasant and helpful.
Room was clean but basic but was a 2 star.
No towel rail to dry towels on & no change nxt day... as no refill on coffee /tea/milk etc had to ask for them which they did provide.
The Balcomie Links Hotel is a wonderful and cozy place to stay for your time spent in East Neuk/Crail/Fife.
We’ve never felt more at home in a hotel than we did at the Balcomie Links Hotel. The owners—Mike and Debbie—create an atmosphere of family and warmth.
Debbie’s exquisite cooking is Scotland’s best kept secret, while Mike does a mean pour of the pint. Understand that the entirety of Crail has poor reception no matter where you go, so the WiFi and cable TV at ANY of the hotels requires acceptance and patience. Fear not but go goodly into the relaxation of unplugging for a bit. Unless you bring along your own hotspot, Crail itself—a peninsula that juts out into the North Sea—is left wanting for signal including mobile phones. That’s just fine. With gorgeous ocean views and hosts that bend over backwards to make their guests feel welcomed with camaraderie, it’s a great place to head on down to their fabulous restaurant, bar, and sizable game room replete with a pool table, darts, Sky TV, and easy-to-laughter locals that embody the Crail spirit of hard working, fun loving people.
We’ve now been guests of the Balcomie on multiple visits and would recommend it to anyone. We miss Debbie.
