Total Gem! Beautiful views, amazing food….rooms are fresh, clean and tastefully decorated. The hotel sits overlooking the sea and the beautiful Golf course which enhances the tranquility. The restaurant is the real winner here and a must visit for residents or non residents. I have been back twice in the last two weeks!!.

Perfect Powfoot

Really lovely hotel - I can recommend without hesitation. Staff are brilliant and food is great. It is very quiet and the walks along the shoreline are a delight.

A great stay

A great place to stay on the way home from Scotland. The food was really lovely and the staff were fantastic. Rooms were clean and decorated well. The only negative we had was the walls seemed thin and we could hear people talking next door early in the morning.

A really lovely hotel and a very lovely room too. Main issue was that my partner is vegan and I have a dairy allergy and the vegan options at breakfast were pretty much non-existent. Staff were lovely though and I will definitely be back

Lovely place, very welcoming very friendly. My room was not quite ready due to late booking. But i was made comfortable and had my evening meal early. The food was great. Would stay again.

Small hotel with delicous local food

Lovely local hotel overlooking the Solway Firth. The room was clean and tidy with ample housekeeping. We had a fabulous view of the Firth, sunsets and night skies, with lots of bird activity during the day, a pair of binoculars wouldnt go amiss! The food was absolutely delicious with lots of options to choose from. The staff were friendly and happy to help. Would we stay again? Absolutely!

Food was amazing, views out of this world, staff should be commended for being so welcoming, helpful and friendly. I will be back! Rice pudding for desert and the duck - yummy!!! Thank you again.

A warm welcome in a lovely location

This was our second stay here. The hotel has a very scenic and peaceful location whilst being easily reached on good roads. There is plenty to do nearby if you want it but we go for the views and to walk by the Solway Firth. The hotel is well run and the staff are friendly and helpful. Special mention for Lisa from the restaurant who recognised us from our previous visit - which was years ago! Impressive. Breakfast is freshly cooked to order and was delicious. Dinner was excellent and a good variety to choose from. We didn't manage a sweet but heard them praised by other diners. Proper coffee machine in the room too (I don't drink instant). Decent size tv but we couldn't get many channels as signal seemed weak but that's a minor quibble. All being well we will be back!

Touring southern Scotland, this location made a lot of geographical sense . I’d rate this a 3 star location. A bit remote ( not in a bad way) - it’s right on the firth of Solway and you can walk right out onto the mudflats . The hotel may be a bit aged but our room, restaurant experience and staff were all quite acceptable. Good location if you prefer being out of town and on the firth
