Fasano Angra dos Reis delivers on the luxury experience. The rooms are excellent and the facilities - sauna, steam room, indoor and outdoor pools are top tier. The one area that falls short: food options. For a resort this remote (and this caliber), two restaurants and a cafĂ© isn’t enough. The main restaurant is Italian and genuinely good, but there’s no variety, minimal healthy or gluten-free alternatives, and given the location, you’re not really leaving the property for meals. At this price point and isolation, broader dining options aren’t a perk - they’re a necessity. Would return for the experience if I had something in the area to be there for. Just come prepared.

Questionable “luxury” resort

First, on the day we arrived, that night we had to change rooms because the bath tub was leaking water all over the bathroom floor. Also, the toilet lid was broken, the air conditioning had a loud noise and wasn’t cooling property. On the second room, the same happened with the air conditioning. The hotel was poorly staffed and several times, the excuse was: “right now, we have no concierge or hostess or bellboy”. Also I speak for languages fluently (spanish, english, italian and french) and many times we had to wait for the staff to find someone that spoke one of those languages. The last night, we had to go to bed without having dinner because we ordered room service and they said that food would arrive in 15mins. One hour passed and I called to see the status of our order and the person said that he couldn’t comply with out order because he couldn’t prepare the food because the kitchen was getting maintenance. If I hadn’t called no one would have let us know. It was a time to relax and enjoy as a couple in a luxury resort but it felt more like a resort that is about to close or go bankrupt. So sad to see such a beautiful place give their clients that poor customer service.

Our spacious room was located on the third floor overlooking the pool and the bay. Unlike many resorts, the room had generous closet space for both of us. We were greeted by name upon arrival, and I appreciated the upgrade. We dined at both resort restaurants and sampled the sushi at another. We enjoyed the fresh desserts and pastries at the bakery and coffee shop. We used the gym everyday and had a blast on the beach. The concierge arranged a driver and guide for a day trip to Paraty. I highly recommend it. In addition, I was able to hike along a trail in the resort that led to a waterfall. The grounds throughout are immaculately maintained. I appreciated the staff bridging my sparse Portuguese and for allowing me to practice improving my language skills. I thank the housekeepers who ensured our space was always organized and well maintained. There is a great selection of breakfast choices either in the buffet or available on the menu. The maitre d’ was welcoming and always accommodating. Barthelemy’s is a wonderful men’s apparel shop. Be sure to check it out in the resort shopping section. After three nights, I felt completely rejuvenated and ready for the next leg of our journey through Brazil.

O quarto era muito espaçoso e confortåvel. O atendimento dos funcionårios excelente. O café da manhã e o atendimento do Sr Clåudio Barcelos excepcional. Porém o jantar deixou muito a desejar, muito aquém do nível do Fasano, comida ruim, em todos os quesitos ( desde a entrada até a sobremesa), eu eu minha família pedimos pratos diferentes para poder experimentar a culinåria, mas todos os pratos não estavam bons, eles precisam urgente rever esse quesito.
