Scott and his daughter who operate this bed and breakfast were extremely nice and welcoming. We stayed in a room with two twin beds. Scott had great suggestions on where to eat. We took an Uber into town but we were told that this can be a nice walk as well but a bit too far for the two of us that were there. The breakfast was a bagged breakfast left for us the previous night. It was well worth the $10 if you don’t feel like going out early.

I arrived late evening by taxi and had a difficult time finding the entrance. The owners were super helpful via text. The main door was coded so the entry was secure. There is a shared living room/kitchen which I wasn’t expecting but was fine. Nice to chat with other people staying there. I stayed in the Russian Room where I had my own bathroom off my bedroom which was a plus. WiFi code was provided along with a personal note and key to my room upon arrival. It was a great place to stay, not too far from a nice little park. I thoroughly enjoyed my time there and I highly recommend it.

The property was very comfortable and clean. Also very convenient to downtown and a walkable distance in a safe neighborhood. Many extras, bikes available, travel info and a good selection of books if you enjoy reading. Nice optional grab and go breakfast available. I would highly recommend a stay here

We loved staying here. We had one other family that we shared the living room and kitchen with, but we each had out own private bathrooms, and they had their own family room in their room. We only really saw each other during meals. We chose to go out for breakfasts and all-day excursions, but cooked dinner at the room. The host also let us use his grill and charcoal. Super nice guy and very accommodating to any of our requests! The place was hot to us, so we adjusted the thermostat, but when the other family showed up, they cranked it back up. So, we opened the window in our bedroom for sleeping, and the neighborhood is noisier than we are used to at home, with cars engines revving and people wandering the neighborhood at night. We would/will stay here, again, and the price was fair over the Labor Day weekend.

We were welcomed by Scott to a comfortable, cozy home with everything we needed for our stay. He gave us tips on the area and went above and beyond with lending my daughter a phone charger when she misplaced hers. He was prompt with responses when we had any question and we really enjoyed riding the bikes along the park trails that were included! Great experience. Well managed property.

Diamond in the Rough

Originally we picked out this B&B for the price. We think we have found a little diamond in the rough. We travel through Anchorage frequently and plan to stay at Walk About again.
