Everything about the hotel was good — clean, comfortable, and pleasant stay. However, transportation is not very convenient, and there’s no laundry service or washing machine available, which was a bit inconvenient.

Hidden gem

Had a 18hour layover from Malta to Philadelphia. Hotel Twenty three is one of those hidden gems that you wish you found sooner. Check in was super easy. The customer service was awesome! Room was huge and clean. Felt really comfortable sleeping on the bed.

We chose Hotel Twenty-Three because it was near Schiphol airport and the price. There were only 14 Expedia reviews when we booked, which suggests it’s a new enterprise. We were delighted to find the hotel was in a town and not on a commercial strip; there were restaurants a short walk away. Our room was large, as was the bed, which was the most comfortable of the hotel beds we encountered on this trip. The hotel staff were friendly and efficient, it was quiet, parking was easy, and the breakfast had a good array of options. Because it’s new, there are still some things to work out, mainly in the bathroom: lighting is terrible and tissues, a waste basket and hooks to hangs things on would be of use. Overall, a very good hotel.

They were accommodating and helpful. However the doors were very thin and you could hear everything from the people outside, to doors closing, and the cars and motorcyles on the streets. I had checked in early after a long day of travel and was resting when someone unlocked my door and was about to come in and then shut it when I woke up. Staff at front desk said it was a housekeeper, but as a solo female traveler, it made me feel a bit uneasy. I thought I was getting a bathtub, so picture are misleading, place is small and the shower doesn't have a door and water goes all over the place. Location was close to shopping and food. Overall was okay.

We had overnight stay for next day flight. The boutique hotel has spacious well pointed room, location is very convenient for us. Free street parking at night, shops and restaurants only a couple of minutes walk. We will stay here again next time in Amsterdam.

This hotel states they have airconditioning in all rooms, ours only had a small plug in fan. This was not acceptable during the heatwave. The staff tried with the fan, hotel refused a partial refund request. It costs more than expected for a uber (not the hotels fault) but fyi it’s 22 euro from the airport. Cute area but may be better to stay closer to amenities or airport.
