The location was perfect due to proximity of everything. A straight few blocks walk from the train station and ferry. It's surrounded by restaurants, shops, bars and fun things to do. The hotel is definitely for the budget traveler- no frills. Room was clean and bed was comfortable.

The location of the hotel was great. Our hotel room was clean to the best possible but the hotel is old and not in the greatest condition. We noticed there was mold in our bathroom and that hot water may not be available in the mornings, we had to shower with cold water a few times. The gentleman working on the front desk was very rude during our stay. He was not helpful and displayed a terrible attitude towards the guests for no reason. This was unpleasant and unfortunate. I won’t recommend this place to anyone.

The room was a typical neat and modestly sized European room. The staff were above average friendly and helpful. The shops are restaurants are all very close by, as is the train station. As long as you can handle stairs, this place is a great find especially for the price.

The things which are good: 1. Great proximity to train station and the heart of touristy Amsterdam; 2. Price was good. 3. Room was pretty clean; 4. 24-hour front of house and security at the front desk. The things which were less good: 1. The stairs are steep but most hotels have steep stairs; 2. The front desk staff are not all the most pleasant or helpful folks; 3. The common areas are dingy; 3. The shower in my room backed up and flooded while I was in there and caused a huge flood. Staff were not so helpful; 4. Some of the clientele seemed a bit sketchy. Just be aware...

Location wise, this hotel is good because it’s just like 3-5 min walk away from Amsterdam Centraal Station. But the hotel was poorly maintained. Entrance of the hotel was dirty as well as the staircase- It has a nasty smell. Room was very tiny. Like if you have 25kg luggage, you will have no enough space. And the toilet/bathroom was full of molds! Even the cord of hair blower has a lot of molds. Wall was very dusty. Airconditioner was dusty and emits a smell like molds. It triggered my allergies. I hope management will do something about maintaining the hotel. I understand they are not a high end hotel, but at least prioritise the cleanliness and hygiene for health safety of their guests. Sorry to say but I Will not recommend this hotel. Molds are health hazard. I hope they understand that. Though the Staff who assisted us during check in was nice and friendly. But We also saw a staff smoking weed in front of the hotel. It is indeed not a nice experience.
