Lovely hotel - the reception and entrance was beautiful and so was the room. Everything spotless and beautifully designed. The location was good for the city and right next to the park but not the best for the airport. Highly recommend and would definitely stay here again.

First and foremost, the staff was perhaps the best I’ve ever encountered. Friendly and helpful best describes them. We arrived early and they were able to move some rooms around and let us check in early after an overnight flight. Housekeeping kept the room stocked. We opted for having breakfast included, which I highly recommend. Coffee, fruit juice, croissants, made to order eggs. Again, the people staffing the breakfast area was just so pleasant.

Overall, we had a nice stay. However, for 2 nights in a row, I needed to go to the reception at 11pm because the music on the terrace was too loud (our room was on the 11th floor). They did lowered it down, but it took a good 5-10 min before someone does it. We took the breakfast twice, because it was convenient, but its too expensive for what it is. The room was clean, but once they forgot to refill the toilet paper and only put decaf coffee pods... Overall a nice stay, but they can improve a few things.

Terrible customer service. Staff was aloof, condescending, abrupt, and went out of their way to ensure you knew that they did not care. I asked if there was anyone that could help me with getting luggage upstairs and the answer was a flat “no”. The elevators are tiny so it took multiple trips after an 11 hour flight to get our things to our room. Our room was not ready on time and we waited until 4:30pm for one of the rooms and there wasn’t even an apology or offer to at least get us some drinks and make us a little comfortable while we waited. My children fell asleep on random sofas in the lobby and coffee bar, and they didn’t even bother telling us when the room did become ready. I had to keep walking over the front desk to check with them. Asking simple questions prompted answers like, “I gave that to you at check in” and when I asked if it was okay to drink the tap water the answer was, “well I’ve been drinking it all my life and I’m still alive”. A simple yes would have sufficed. The hotel itself is lovely with a beautiful aesthetic. But it doesn’t not make up for the crappy attitude and service. Breakfast was a good value given that it was included in room rate. So if you are okay with rude service to the point where your children even ask you, “why are they so rude”, then book at your own risk. Considering how much we paid for two rooms to accommodate a family of 4, I’m sure there are far better choices in Amsterdam.

Pros: Aesthetically nice Located close to tram stops making travel easy Cons: Beds are awful, very hard and lumpy. Mine had a dip in it, almost felt like it was really old. Cleaner didn’t clean the room, simply emptied the bins and gave me a new towel. It does host events on an evening so on a couple of nights it was very loud, I’m not a light sleeper so it didn’t really bother me but it might for others. Total building site outside, nowhere near completion and it looks awful from the outside. Card machine was broken so I couldn’t pay the city tax on arrival, the guy on reception acted like it was my fault and inconvenienced him. When mentioning the issue about the bed and cleaning the staff offered me a breakfast (usually €27.50), but when I declined because I needed to go to the airport (they offered it while I had my case and was checking out) they just shrugged the shoulders and said oh well.
