“This is a half-renovated hotel being marketed as luxury. In fact, its previous name is still visible throughout the premises, and in some cases hastily plastered over with a sticker. We booked one of the cheaper rooms, but were surprised by how poor the quality was. The mattress was terrible — we could feel every spring despite both of us weighing 80 and 50kg. “Air conditioning did not work in mid-May but I think it’s because the season is early. It probably will work in June. Breakfast was simple but good. Pool was very nice. Room had a TV which was nice but the bathroom felt really outdated and always smelled like chlorine for some reason. Balcony was really nice. ”

“The staff at the reception was amazing, and the cleaning staff was excellent as well. Unfortunately, the rest of the experience was very disappointing. Staff members were removing plates before guests had even finished their meals, and there was constant shouting throughout the hotel. The alcohol served at the bar was of very poor quality. Overall, this did not feel like a 5-star hotel experience at all.”

“We had such a wonderful stay here. Perfect location in Rethymno. Easy access to walk into the centre, super location with private beach just over the road in front of the hotel. Gorgeous breakfast and bar location and the best hotel breakfasts I have had in a long time - felt like being out for brunch as a local. The staff were so so friendly and helpful.
