“The public areas show off the heritage of this very old house to great effect. We loved the breakfast - both staff & food were outstanding. The extensive grounds contain the Golf courses, but even with magnificent trees and the lake, there is no escape from Golf. The only significant disappointment was Wifi coverage in the Mathern annexe. I spent far too much quality time back & forth to reception to no avail. “One night stay. Very friendly staff. Lovely village location with nice view of the Wye valley hillsides. Very reasonable pub standard evening meal, breakfast was spot on. The room was clean and comfortable with all the bits you would expect, kettle with tea and coffee, a nice bottle of sparkling water, TV, good quality soap and shower gel etc. Great value for a very reasonable price. Add in that they served a well kept pint of Tribute Ale.”

Easily accessible to the old market town of Chipping Sodbury and the stunning village of Castle Combe which we did both. “Pros: En general muy bien, la recepción muy amables, rodeado de supermercados, pubs y restaurantes. La cama es cómoda aunque la almohada es baja para mi. El baño no dispone de nada de amenities, por lo que recomiendo llevar lo necesario uno mismo. Parking compartido con supers por lo que siempre hay hueco.
