We received a very warm welcome and assistance for parking my car and took our luggage from the car to our room. The room was outstanding clean and the largest room in our month long stay in Italy. It is a true castle we felt like a king and queen.

Every moment was priceless

This is a magical town and the castle makes it complete. From the history of the buildings and architecture to the charm and peacefulness that captures you in every way. Our dinner was authentic and served as if you are royally. Everything about this hotel is worth discovering as well as the charming town of Altomonte

What a lovely experience to be in a restored 11th century castle. The restaurant has a limited menu but you will not be disappointed. Everything is homemade including pastas and local cheese production. Italian meats are made during the slow season by the workers at the hotel. The view of the valley from the back door of the dining room is spectacular. This is a hidden jewel in Calabria.

Ancient castle fully renovated but to historic standards. Delicious, multi course dinner prepared and served in lovely dining room. Excellent service. Wonderful antiques, linens and dishes. Convenient location if you’re driving back to Naples or Roma from Calabria.

Castle on top of the hill

Great place to stay. This is a castle on top of a hill in picturesqe small town. Room was very big and decorated like a room in a castle. Very impressive and I would stay again, but this is not really a hotel in the traditional sense of the word.

Historic, elegant Castle from the 1100s - 1200s, all renovated, refurbished and redecorated. Lovely antique furniture. Very friendly staff. Banquet and reception Hall have magnificent viws of the surronding green landscape - very picturesque Calabria. The halls/ facilities have frescoed walls and historic pianos. On the end of main room is a new marble floor with decorative design. The staff is accomdating and gives service with a smile.

Great example of Calabrian hospitality! We stayed in February and were the only guests for the night, yet we were still offered dinner (which was excellent and resonably priced). The service was exemplary, the room very comfortable with a great view. Highly recommended.
