Lovely place to stay , good food , good beer , staff were all brilliant, we stayed with our border terrier who spent most of the weekend asleep in front of the fire, would definitely recommend a visit
Lovely country pub, great food and very welcoming, our dogs were welcomed too. Great staff who couldn't do enough to make our stay comfortable. We will definitely be back soon.

Cosy country inn, old world charm and friendly staff good food and drink
Really friendly country pub and a great room. All the staff were great and and George the host even helped clear the car screen of ice, lovely chap. Would highly recommend to a quiet relaxing get away with great food. Excellent breakfast
We choose here due to location for walking and weren’t disappointed. An utterly fabulous place to stay and would definitely be going back. Everyone was so very friendly and helpful with super food and drink too! Thank you.
Fantastic place to stay, our room was very comfortable and pleasant. Liked the personal touches of complimentary water and chocolate and a jug of milk in the fridge.
Check in was both friendly and professional.
Our first visit, which was so enjoyable that we have no hesitation in saying that we will visit again. We can find no fault with any aspect of our stay, made all the better by the friendliness of the manager and his staff.
This was our third visit here and it was just as good as the first time.
Great local pub with a mix of clientele, fabulous room and superb food in the restaurant.
The full breakfast was awesome and definitely not for the faint hearted!
A very relaxed stay in a beautiful setting.
Small evening menu, but delicious food. Breakfast options were extensive and delicious, with excellent service too.
The room was very comfortable - bed linens and towels were of high quality and everything was sparkling clean.
We will be back!
The pub was very welcoming and made you feel at home. The Tankerville Arms is on the side of the road in a little village which is very quiet.
The food and service was excellent and very friendly staff.
The room was clean, comfortable and quiet.
We would highly recommend this hotel for a stay
We spent a wonderful two nights here and will definitely be coming back. Dinner in the restaurant was excellent and exceptional value. The breakfast is epic. Hosts and staff were all very friendly and helpful. Good base for visiting Holy Island, Bamburgh or Alnwick.
Really helpful, nice and thoughtful people in a great place with an excellent location. We don’t usually bother with reviews but have made an exception in this case as we were very impressed. Strongly recommended
Very helpful staff and room very clean, but cold when we arrived no heating on.
We were in the french room I paid at time of booking and wasn't aware that it was a private bathroom and not ensuite, had to cross a corridor to use facilities not ideal as the corridor was used by other guests and also staff as the laundry room also in that corridor.
Great breakfast
A lovely place to stay in a beautiful part of the country. Staff were very welcoming and friendly. Bed very comfortable and the room nicely designed. I had dinner there, which was lovely as was the epic breakfast.
Had a really great 2 night stay. Room was lovely, so comfortable. It was a great period style - but still provided for today’s needs - great wi-if, large shower, plenty of sockets. Ellen looked after us really well and couldn’t do enough for us. As for the breakfast - superb! Great choices and didn’t need lunch!
