This was the worst experience we have ever had with a hotel booked through Expedia. We made the booking around 9:00 p.m. that evening, with payment authorized at 9:51 p.m. We arrived just before 11:30 p.m., which was still within the hotel's stated check-in hours, only to find that the office was already closed. We immediately called the hotel's listed phone number multiple times, but no one answered. With no way to check in, we had no choice but to leave and drive another hour down the road in the middle of the night to find another hotel. We subsequently requested a refund through Expedia and provided our call history as proof that we had attempted to contact the hotel upon arrival. Expedia tried to obtain approval for the refund, but the hotel apparently did not answer Expedia's calls or respond to its emails. That is, after failing to provide the accommodation we had paid for, the hotel also refused to communicate with Expedia to address our refund request. An extremely disappointing experience, both in terms of the hotel's failure to honor its stated check-in hours and its handling of the matter afterward.
