“Visually the place makes a very good impact. Dinner, the food was excellent as were the staff. Breakfast … we’d booked it at check in. We turned up to breakfast and there was nothing booked , the service at breakfast was okay , we did have to case up something. But overall we had a very good stay and would return.”

“We had a very pleasant stay with Maggie and Paddy at The Old Rectory. The accommodation was excellent as was the food at breakfast and dinner. A fine place to drive from to the outlying towns and villages.”

“Beautiful guest house …very friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful rooms, lovely and clean, with mini bar …and they little details in the rooms like Disaronno liquor ….a little Italian restaurant situated downstairs. Maldon is a beautiful village, with little shops and restaurants just around the corner, I would also highly recommend Mrs Salisburys for food & service too which is just around the corner on the high street. Parking is also available. ”

“Would highly recommend this property. We were made to feel welcome. The breakfast option is definitely worth it. Hot and cold drink was included. The staff were all lovely, made to feel like a local. The bedrooms are lovely and a bonus waking up to a. I’ve view. Highly recommend, will definitely be back to stay. ”
