“Great location, with loads of parking in the area and really close to the station (handy to get to Newcastle) and the seaside. The staff was helpful when we had an issue with the check in, and was always responsive to our requests. “Overall, the property was clean and tidy, the staff were really friendly and helpful and the food was decent. However, one of the rooms had no working shower and despite reporting it first thing in the morning, it still wasn’t repaired when my dad returned. They did offer to move him to another room, but it was late and he just wanted to get to bed. Also, the beds were really uncomfortable and the pillows were so thin, I had to use all 4 of them. “Room was clean, but mould/mildew in bathroom. No wifi. Bit of a trek into town but it’s a nice walk, uphill on the way back. Lady downstairs was lovely. Definitely lots of noise coming from the pub when you’re trying to sleep. Cheap accommodation, you pay for what you get.”
