I would not recommend Livane Beach Hotel, especially to Europeans. None of the daytime staff speak English (only one person working at night). Alcohol is not allowed, you will be told off if you have any, and the staff will come over to inspect what you’re drinking. The staff smoke everywhere all the time, even though the hotel claims smoking is not allowed. The rooms are also not cleaned properly. I stayed for 14 days, and my room was cleaned only twice, both times after I repeatedly asked and tried to explain the situation. They claimed the room would be cleaned every other day, but that was simply not true. For the rest of my stay, I had to help myself to clean towels from a storage closet I found. The hotel’s construction and maintenance also seem unsafe. The shower head fell and hit me on the head while I was showering. On another occasion, a large window fell from the balcony above us and shattered into thousands of pieces on the balcony below. We were lucky we weren’t standing next to our own balcony when it happened. The staff dismissed it as “an accident.” The shower water barely worked during the entire two weeks I stayed there. If you are European and wear a bikini at the hotel, expect to receive a lot of disapproving looks, especially from the staff and their family members. The staff constantly had family and family friends visiting, and they seemed to use the hotel as their own social gathering place. This significantly affected our stay, as they were rude.
