Tristan was a warm, friendly and accommodating host, essentially opening up his home to his guests, from food and drinks to recommendations for things to do. The grounds of the property are extensive and peaceful, with chickens, ducks and his dog Piscot. “We arrived at 8pm, having called in advance to advise of our arrival time. We had booked a table in the restaurant at 8.30pm (the final sitting according to the website). We were disappointed to hear the restaurant was shut when we arrived. We were offered no refreshments (our booking stated a welcome drink)- the village was very quiet with only a burger place open so we had very little choice to get something to eat. Would not return.”

“The views and grounds were stunning, especially the morning mist over the river. However, the public areas looked run-down and needed cleaning, and the freezers inexplicably placed near one of the reception rooms were odd. Our room was clean, but breakfast was mediocre with off-tasting coffee and inedible pineapple. Worth visiting for the views, but expect some cleanliness issues.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​”
