We had a great 3-night family stay at Whitsunday Terraces in Airlie Beach. The location is excellent—close to everything—and the views are absolutely stunning, which really made the trip special. That said, the kitchen and bathroom are quite dated and in need of an upgrade. The most frustrating part was the lack of WiFi in the rooms, which was a real inconvenience during our stay. Overall, a very enjoyable stay thanks to the location and views, but a few updates would make a big difference.

Cleanliness was good—no issues there. We booked this property because it was advertised as “sleeps 4.” However, we only added myself and my wife during booking (not the kids), assuming the room would be set up accordingly. On arrival, the room only had 2 beds and was clearly prepared for 2 guests. After raising this with reception, they moved us to another room that accommodates 4, but we were required to pay extra per child, which was disappointing given the original listing. The second room had several maintenance issues: the TV cabinet was damaged, there was visible water damage on the ceiling, and some door handles were broken. The doors wouldn’t close properly, so drafts kept slamming them unless we kept everything shut. The bathroom had a folding door that wouldn’t stay closed, only loosely held by a hook. There was also a connecting door to the neighbouring room, which made things uncomfortable for the kids—we ended up blocking it with the couch to help them feel at ease. We didn’t use the restaurant (separate business), but prices seemed high (around $44 for fish and chips). One thing to keep in mind: if you walk into town, be prepared for a steep uphill walk back to the hotel. Overall, while the place was clean, the misleading room setup and maintenance issues made the stay less enjoyable.

View is excellent and staff are very friendly and helpful. Very close to main street with lots of dining options and close to marina as well for those looking to go on tours or visit other islands. Facilities are run down though and not of a high standard. Steep walk up the hill from the main street.

Our Self contained apartment with Balcony was Amazing. Views to envy over Airlie Beach! A short walk to the town centre, and sloped walk back for 100m, but 2 pools & a bar with such views. I’ll be back!!!

Loved the location, close and convenient for the town and expect some good exercise to get back at the end of the day as its up the hill a bit.
