“One of the latest additions to Ahangama beachfront, which itself is also recently developed. 40 sea view rooms plus 12 much cheaper and a bit smaller rooms at the backside. The whole setup is a solid 3-4 star: large pool, spa, good buffet breakfast, stable WiFi. And only 300 m walk from town centre (and 500 to station) with lots of bars and restaurants. Beachten sollte man, das Zimmer erst nach dem dritten Tag gereinigt und auch die Handtücher gewechselt werden. “This place is not a hostel or a hotel. It has just three rooms above a cafe. The only good side is its location. It is just one minute away from Ahangama Train Station, so you don’t need to deal with tuk-tuk mafia. It is on the main road, probably in the most central location in Ahangama town. “It was my girlfriend’s first time visiting Sri Lanka and Ahangama was the first place we had been on the coast since she got here. Because of this we decided to spend a bit more on a hotel for a bit of a nicer stay. However what we got from a Timeless Villa was not this. We had various basic amenities missing from our room, for example we had no hand towels and we also did not get a kettle so had to ask staff to get us one from another room. “Fantastiskt rum och härlig balkong med kvällssol. Snygg interiör och färgval. Fin personal, bra frukost. Vi hade en fin vistelse och det är ett fint hotell men vi tyckte det saknades lite ”feeling”, hotellet kändes överlag mörkt och tyst trots att det bodde mycket människor där. “Nice clean rooms and attentive staff, pool was heated and the location was walkable into certain surf spots; sticks, and marshmallow. Only issues is that the bathroom was slightly broken, sink was loose and shower door dragged. The staff we not familiar with Expedia payments, but this is common for the island as most hotels don’t like the idea of not being paid cash. This was sorted eventually but remember to show your payment receipt on check in. ”

“Firstly the reservation hadn't been received so I had to pay for the room again and rely on a refund from Hotels.com. Nice room but very noisy with train line adjacent to the building. Location wasn't great with a 20 min walk into Ahangama and no nearby restaurant or food shops. I left one night early but no refund for the unused night from the hotel. Overall not a good experience.”
