“I read that there was no elevator, but your room is on the third floor because the family lives on the lower floors. They were helpful with luggage, but we still lifted our luggage up and down 3 flights of stairs. The property is located on a one-way street. So, many taxis and Ubers have a difficult time because it takes an extra 5 to 10 minutes to pick you up.”

“Brilliant location. Very clean and quiet. It is tiny - as shown in pics - with a bunkbed and small bathroom. No windows. But perfect for a comfortable sleep. There was free water in the fantastic shared kitchen. Coffee machine, microwave, fridge, kettle…lots of kichenware. “Madelena ‘s shows signs of once being great but it’s way off now. They should close the back rooms so guests don’t see the laundry drying and block off the area under construction. Get rid of all the broken stuff; chairs, lounges, bar stools. Cover the empty pool and get a gardener to prune everything. The 2 staff members we saw seem unsupported and poorly managed. We didn’t eat there so can’t comment on the food but the included breakfast at 8:30 was very late so we left.”

“We loved the apartment. It was really spacious, with good A/C, and functioning washer &dryer. Location is excellent with very easy access to the old fortress and the museum of Asian arts, and other landmarks and restaurants.”

“The apartment is well decorated with adequate space for dining, seating and kitchen facilities. The location is in the prime tourist area but it was surprisingly very quiet. Restaurants, bakeries, grocers are all nearby and extremely convenient to get to. It’s walkable to the Old Fortress and even to the ferry terminal. Highly recommended.”
