We were sight seeing most of the day. Room service meals were tasty. Breakfast on the last day was finally buffet style as in the pictures. No TV for two days. Bathroom was leaking. Airport shuttle driver was not helpful with our luggage out of the van. Overall customer service needs improvement as well as housekeeping and maintenance. The kitchen staff was wonderful.

It’s a good hotel in a nice location. However, the air conditioning is not working, so I had to stay in a room with a temperature above 25°C. The TV was also not working, and the cleanliness was average. There is significant noise pollution on the west side of the building. All in all, it’s a good hotel if they address these issues.

This hotel stands out for its proximity to shops, restaurants, outdoor areas, and tourist sites. The reception staff were lovely and very attentive, and the facilities (gym, spa, laundry) were very appreciated. The rooms were dated, but fairly well kept, and the beds were comfy. On the negative side, the shower was too small to be used effectively (the water angle cannot be adjusted and shoots at the shower doors, flowing over the head of shorter guests) and occasionally didn’t have hot water, with seemingly random timing. The hot water did eventually return if you waited a few minutes or hours and retried. Though I know the cleaning staff worked hard, I saw a couple of cockroaches in the room. I was also harassed by a couple of mosquitoes at night, despite being on a high floor with closed windows. The restaurant left a lot to be desired. The staff often disappeared and was difficult to re-engage, and then even when you did manage to find someone, much of the food was not available to be ordered. Breakfast was also very limited, and frequently featured non-breakfast food. I’m not sure about room service; I tried it once, but was told that what I wanted to order wasn’t available. Luckily, there are very good restaurants nearby, and Tomoca was great for morning coffee, so you don’t have to stick to their offerings. All in all, I don’t think I’d call it 4 stars, but the price is pretty unbeatable, and the negatives were manageable.

4 days stay @ Hotel Eliana

It’s a nice hotel comfortable beds, clean linen, friendly staff at your service right from front desk manager to F&B manager to GM. The airport pickup was a breeze. Very comfortable stay at this hotel with excellent views. WiFi was hassle free, warm water in bathroom available, kettle with enough tea bags always available. Suggestions - the Bathroom fitting and fixtures can be upgraded.

The hotel is located in a key area which is more attractive for visitors. All Staff are very polite and helpful. The breakfast is beautiful has a lot of options, rooms are clean and the small touch of dressing gowns and slippers are excellent. What my family and I would comment on for improvements are the fixtures need to be checked and fixed eg the light in our room was flickering and we had to unplug the whole thing, the shower in one of the rooms did not have the hot water working and when it did work it had no power at all, the towels need changing (they are clean but very old). Apart from that the hotel and staff are excellent.

I was a guest of the hotel for two weeks, I liked it and I will return. The staff are very kind and helpful even if they should be trained and educated better, but everyone is still very kind and polite... by improving they could do much better and earn more money. Unfortunately, the Piassa neighborhood is a disastrous construction site, they have destroyed all the tradition of the neighborhood to build horrible buildings that will never be inhabited or finished (Addis is full of skeletons of buildings that have never been finished for years!) The hotel is very central and well protected at the entrance. The food is good.

The property is ideally located in the prime area of the piazza neighborhood with easy access to transport and amenities. Staff are extremely friendly, helpful and ready to meet your needs at any cost. The hotel room and all accessible areas are spotlessly clean. Buffet style breakfast is provided at a cost with an option to order from a menu. The food is decent with a fairly reasonable price but it is not first rate. They used to have rooftop bar and restaurant but was unfortunately unavailable for unknown reasons during my stay. Plus, one out of the two elevators was out of service all the time and was a cause for some inefficiencies in several respects. Overall, it is a fabulous hotel and I'd certainly recommend it to others but the hotel must also improve its efficiency to provide services that match its status as a world class hotel.

Staff was very nice. Room clean and comfortable but exposed to quite a bit of street noise (even on 7th floor). Good central location. Most of the time only barebone breakfast, always the same dry cake. Rice and omelette were the choice on many days. I ordered dinner once with a friend and waited almost 45 minutes while no other guests were there. Front desk personnel made me pay additional ETB 150 000 at check out despite the reservation having been paid to Expedia already. They could not explain why I had to pay more, but I was in a hurry to make it to the airport so did not argue, with the plan to settle issue later. I had reserved and paid for 2 beds in the room but only got one bed (which was sufficient). Also, was told by evening staff that checkout time would be 2 pm, and then (after I had made plans) was told it would be 12 pm. I had lodged at Eliana previously with a much better experience. Not sure if I want to come back. Just to repeat : Staff was friendly and generally very helpful except for at check out.

Rooms were neglected . Hotel itself is depressing. Staff is unhelpful. Bell boy telling me he make 20 usd a month and that i should tip him. Every room he attempted to give me had issyes. Safety included. Lunch was 1500 birr and they were putting it away. Bad enough options were minimum
