Everything about this hotel is wonderful! The airport shuttle was seamless, the breakfast was delicious, and the rooms are renovated and comfortable. The staff were very helpful and friendly. This hotel is excellent value and it was a delight to stay!

One of the nicest and cleanest hotels in Addis at a very reasonable price. The room was spacious and comfortable. The free breakfast buffet is decent and airport shuttle very convenient. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Addis and would stay here anytime I visit addis .

Layover in Addis Ababa

We had 18 hours in Addis Ababa and the Bentark hotel was a good central location to join our Tastes of Ethiopia tour and also close to the airport. The rooftop bar was also nice with live jazz and a good view. We had some confusion over a “roof charge” from the bar, and the bar manager came knocking on our door in the middle of the night, but otherwise the staff weee all great, airport transfers were very smooth and the room was clean.

Positive: The hotel had some good aspects. The internet connection was reliable, the lighting was adequate, and the TV worked well. The breakfast was tasty, and you could enjoy delicious food anytime. Negative: I had several issues during my five days stay. The room I was given was not as depicted in the photos on Expedia and was not as described. It was small and stuffy, with an almost non-functional air conditioner. The bed was uncomfortable, and the bathroom lacked basic amenities like shampoo and body soap. Additionally, the surrounding streets were muddy and unpaved, causing shoes to get dirty frequently. I requested to be relocated to another room multiple times, but their consistent response was 'there are no available rooms.' This was despite the fact that several rooms of the same type were showing as available on Expedia for the same hotel.

The Bentark Hotel surpassed my expectations in every way. From the prompt replies to my emails, to the seamless shuttle pickup at the Addis airport in the dead of night, to the extremely courteous and efficient treatment at check-in, I could not have been happier with the staff and the service I received. But it was my room (Room 405) that completely took me by surprise. Without exaggeration, it was the most perfect, most delightful hotel room I have stayed in recently. To start, the space itself was generously proportioned, with high ceilings and with a light, airy and modern feel. Light wood floors and furniture were offset by soft, plush white linens and the room had every convenience (refrigerator, charging ports, generously sized built-in closets) that a traveler needs. One delightful surprise was a floor to ceiling sliding glass door that led to a private balcony. The bathroom, like the room itself, was large, clean and modern with a glass-enclosed shower and a large, square ‘rain forest’ type of showerhead. (Some of the holes in the showerhead seemed somewhat clogged so if management is reading this review, please replace the showerhead as soon as possible). Breakfast on the first floor seemed more than adequate with a whole assortment of juices, baked goods, a manned station where eggs can be ordered according to one’s preferences, etc. As with all the staff I encountered at Bentark, the service at breakfast was impeccable. Fantastic hotel!
