“Lovely, comfy bed with white linen. Room was so quite, recommend for a good nights sleep.”

“The hotel is charming and in an excellent location for exploring Shrewsbury. The room was very comfortable. As the hotel is in a very old building you need to be aware of steps and slopes in the floor and the stairs are quite steep (no lift). The bar is good, and the food we had at both dinner and breakfast was of a very high quality. The hotel has a small car park, with quite a narrow entrance. We were fine getting in, but, in any case there is plenty of reasonably priced parking not far away....

“Joules and her Son were absolutely wonderful hosts. We couldn’t have been made to feel any more welcome and we had absolutely everything we needed for our stay. The breakfast was outstanding - lots of choice and super fresh and tasty. Joules’ baking was a great surprise treat, a lovely touch in our room on arrival and the Brownies later in our stay were out of this world! Our room was spotless, very comfy bed, lovely armchairs with the spectacular view over Ironbridge and the valley....

“We stayed in room 5, lovely views down to the river and garden. I can imagine it being a little noisy on a sunny weekend, luckily it was a little cool and rainy so very quiet. Unfortunately we had no hot water for the whole of our stay and were not offered any compensation or a reduction in the price.”

Das Hotel wirkt insgesamt sehr in die Jahre gekommen und scheint im Laufe der Zeit mehrfach erweitert worden zu sein, wodurch die Zimmerflure sehr verwinkelt und unübersichtlich sind. Während unserer Reisezeit war es sehr heiß. Unser erstes Zimmer mit Balkon hatte keine Klimaanlage; der Balkon war zudem nicht gepflegt (es wuchsen Gräser). Auf Nachfrage erhielten wir in der folgenden Nacht netterweise ein Zimmer mit...
