Room was slightly outdated, however it was clean, breakfast was very basic, 1 of each item, and you boil a kettle for tea. Rooms not attached to main building.
Great place to stay. Very friendly receptionist, nice and warm, spacious, comfy bed and a delicious breakfast.

It was all Okay, just average which is what your paying for here, it was clean and comfortable nothing needed to be complained about, if this is your budget, then it perfectly fine for the money
Very quirky 600 year old thatched building. We had a large room for 3 of us and a lovely big bathroom with a huge shower cubicle and a bath. The bed was very comfortanle and we slept well even though the building is on a busy road. If you only like 5* hotels, this is not for you! There was ample parking.
Set in a very pretty village, the inn offers spacious, comfortable rooms and a freshly cooked breakfast

Abingplough inn was in a good location. Breakfast was brilliant. Staff very friendly & helpful. Bed & bathroom clean. The buildings could do with a little TLC. Definitely value for money. Would certainly recommend it.
This is a great find. Cosy, comfy and with a real feeling of homeliness. The receptionist is very friendly and helpful and the breakfast is delicious. Ten out of ten. Would definitely recommend.
Very nice place to stay. Good friendly staff. Had no issues. Plenty of towels. Plenty of coffee and tea in room. Room very clean and a good size. Will stay here again no problems
On first impressions the place was good but after some time we started to see some things that weren’t nice.
First the shower didn’t work properly so the water temperature was extremely hot. As we were staying only for 2 nights we didn’t feel the need to complain but it we were to have stayed longer we would of complained and let them know. The room had many spider webs and a spider on the bed. The bathroom didn’t have a good clean and the tap was dirty. We felt as if someone had left the room and they only changed the bed before we came in. On a good note the bed was very comfortable and the room was a good size.
The breakfast experience wasn’t the best, we saw that there was only one person serving and cooking the breakfast so I get why the service was slow. Once we received the breakfast one was half cooked and cold and the other was like warm. The toast felt like it had been made way in advance as it was stale and cold.
The women on the front desk that greeted us was very lovely and welcoming which was nice. The place is really nice, and a really good price. There are just a few things that would need to be better. We didn’t have a bad time but if we were to have been there for longer I would of looked for somewhere else.
The property was somewhat quirky, but in the ideal location to stay over while visiting the area for motocross.
The owners were friendly and welcoming on arrival and at breakfast.
One of the only things I can really pick a fault with is there was a really strong stale smoke smell in the bathroom which did hit you when opening the bathroom door, so could do with a freshen up and maybe an air freshener in there.
The bed was really comfortable, the quilt / duvet was incredible too- I tried to find a label for where it was from to order one for home but couldn’t see one 😂.
Overall a pleasant stay, and if in the area again we would book again.

Jack and wife good . The whole experience was as good as it needed to be. Didnt like the electricals too many socket extensions and trailing cables. Room service fell away to the end of the week. Clean enough and always warm.

Potential to be “Great”
My wife and I recently stayed at AbingPlough House. It’s a lovely period cottage with character and external cottage style thatched bedrooms forming a pretty terrace along side the main building. It’s run by new staff now for the last few months. I noticed that it was in need of a little TLC however, I spoke to the new manageress who I must say does everything from booking to cleaning, repairs and breakfast the best she could and was always at hand, she is very attentive to everything she does and is a credit to the business.
After speaking with her I realised she’s not getting the support that she should from the business owner who is the letdown here.
It would be supportive if the owner helped with supplying basic materials like paint inside and out just to freshen up also attend to the loose ends that I noticed. AbingPlough House is a good quiet relaxing place to stay for travellers or visitors to the area, it’s also set in a pretty countryside location.
Like I said it’s a good place but, with a little support from the owner it will be a “GREAT PLACE” with a great manageress who has ambition to achieve.

The Plough, no return
On arrival they couldn't find our reservation. When the lady finally found us, she rang what we can only assume was her husband to mention we had arrived. There was further confusion during the call and we heard the person on the other end of the phone asking "how much have they paid". On her response he said, put them in room 2.
This was a family room, but we had booked the double deluxe bay view room.
The room was comfortable enough, but quite an odd layout. Two entrances to the room, the longer way around entailed walking up a staircase with a very strong smell of damp. Then entering the room down some steep stairs, the room was in complete darkness and we struggled to find the light. The switch being a pull switch that is not near the entrance.
The location is extremely quiet, not very much to do locally. An okay base for our visit.

Pay extra and stay elsewhere
The oddest check in experience I’ve ever had. Having messaged the property when I booked letting them know my arrival time I arrived to find an empty bar and no sign of anyone (other than a key on the desk with note from someone else saying they had left because the smell of smoke was so bad).
When someone arrived a few minute after I rang the ball he preceeded to facetime someone (whilst repeatedly turning the camera to me in some sort of odd visual inspection) and through very broken English we managed to get me to a room about 25 minutes later.
The room was comfy enough in fairness, but not clean. Hairs in the shower, dustballs on the floor and a dirty towel shoved under the fridge because it leaked. Wi-fi had a “one minute on / one minute off policy” which wasn’t overly helpful either.
Safe to say I won’t be returning.
Staff were polite. Rooms could use a lick of paint and freshening up. Breakfast on first morning was cold. Had a family sat on next table and who like us had to pre order breakfast at check in had bacon put on their plate. They do not eat bacon as part of their religion so the man cooking breakfast just used his fingers and took the bacon off the plate.
