Great location

Right in the heart of Old Town Aachen, just a few meters to Van den Daele Cafe, cathedral, and the historic town hall. Well refurbished, nice staff, good breakfast buffet. Recommended.

The hotel is within the inner-city walking precinct and is challenging to reach by car. The gentleman who greeted us at reception was rather curt and untoward. I felt that I was an inconvenience rather than a guest. The room was smallish but clean with a view of the Cathedral and Rathaus. The city centre is very walkable from the hotel. The buffet breakfast offered a great selection of food both hot and cold. Would happily stay there again.

Okay, but could be better

Okay hotel in Aachen city centre. Good location. Decent breakfast. Room window not very well soundproofed-it was possible to clearly hear people talking outside the hotel at 4am. WiFi signal in room was terrible. No free bottle of water in room either - its the norm in German hotels to provide a free bottle of water.

The hotel rooms do not have airco. It is sold as a 4 star so should have airco. Fortunately when we were there the temperature was only 23 outside. The hotel room was 27C though. That is not acceptable. The hotel is fantastic though - shame about the lack of airco.

Wirklich zentral gelegenes Hotel mit sehr netten Mitarbeitern. Wir haben uns wohl gefühlt, allerdings zeigt sich die zentrale Lage -zumindestens bei unserem Zimmer zur Straße - auch nachts, ruhig ist anders.

A due passi dalla cattedrale.Camera spaziosa, arredata con gusto e separata dal bagno e dall'anticamera da una porta interna. Colazione: buona con opzioni vegane presenti ma limitate. Latte vegetale a richiesta, ma servito in piccole caraffe, sicché può accadere che la richiesta debba essere rinnovata. Caffè e latte vegetale serviti non molto caldi (forse una consuetudine tedesca). Personale disponibile e cordiale.

Well positioned and quiet location. The included breakfast had a good range of food but difficult to see with the table layout which tables were clear to use. Would have been useful to have instructions for the air con as it was very hot.

Zentral gelegen in der Innenstadt entsprach dieses Hotel weitgehend den Erwartungen, die man an ein 4 Sterne-Hotel stellt: saubere, gut ausgestattete und geräumige Zimmer, freundliches Personal und ein ansprechendes Frühstück: am Wochenende bis 11 Uhr, sehr kundenfreundlich. Das innenliegende Bad mit der üblichen leistungsschwachen Entlüftung war etwas eng, die beiden knapp 90 cm breiten 2 Einzelbettbetten waren für uns zu hart und die Kopfkissen waren schwer in die gewünschte Form zu bringen. Für unsere Übernachtung Ende Juni hatten wir um ein ruhiges Zimmer gebeten und erhielten es auch, Zimmer 501 im 5. Stock. Dass auf einem Balkon gegenüber dann bis um 2 Uhr morgens lautstark gefiert wurde, war nicht die Schuld des Hotels, die laute Müllentlehrung um 6.20 Uhr hingegen wohl schon. Kurz danach schien dann die Sommersonne so intensiv in die Fenster (ohne außenliegenden Sonnenschutz), dass sich das Zimmer sehr schnell extrem aufwärmte und an Schlaf weiter nicht zu denken war. Schade, dass es in den Zimmern hier keine Klimaanlage gibt. Wir zogen dann um in das Zimmer 512 zur Straßenseite hinaus, dort konnte man es gut aushalten, denn morgens lag es auf der Schattenseite und der Straßenlärm lag in Rahmen dessen, was man bei einem Innenstadthotel erwarten muss.
