“Lovely spot to enjoy Volcano National Park. The small town is quite limited, so maybe not ideal for a long stay. The Bamboo Guest house was well suited for our family of four. Our two children slept on the “floor futons” and were very comfortable. The house is not air conditioned, which means the windows must be open when it is warm out, allowing some bugs and moisture in. But, the rain forest vibes are pretty nice. Really enjoyed the Japanese soaking tub. WiFi is very spotty. Host was lovely...

“This was a real ‘find’. Located in a very quiet neighborhood about 20 minutes from the full-sized grocery store, drug store and other amenities in Keaau, as well as the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. The house was immaculately clean, and the owner stopped by to welcome us and then provided advice via text on area restaurants. We had a terrific stay.”

“We had positive experience in this place. The place were more like a bed and breakfast but without cleaning fees and instructions before checking out and breakfast. The place was really clean, very close to nature, has their own laundry and dryer (does not need coins), rooms and bathrooms were clean. You can also reach out to the staff via text messaging. The location has good cell reception.”

“We had a wonderful experience staying at this apartment near Hilo. The owners were very nice & helpful with info about the apartment. They also offered advice about places to visit nearby. The apartment was very clean, well maintained & they even provided a water filter jug for the fridge. They had lots of beach/pool equipment to borrow & had really thought of almost everything you might need for your visit. The acre of land is beautiful to walk around & enjoy all the plants & garden they have...
