The Arundell Hotel

Boston
8.6 de 10, Excelente, (125)
“Very clean, amazing hotel, love the decor, love all the fancy lights in the rooms. Shower could of been hotter. Plenty of choice for the breakfast buffet, only thing we couldn't work out was the coffee machine pod. There was noise coming from outside but that was from the binmen I believe and it was at 6 30am on a Sunday morning , which I didn't want waking up at that time. Other than that it was a comfortable night and will be back again”

“The Hotel is very good value for money. Great for an overnight stay. Rooms are clean although would benefit redecorating. Rooms have tea and coffee making facilities, hair dryer and a heated towel rail and free WiFi. Ample car parking. The Hotel lacks Bar/Restaurant but a Buffet style Breakfast is available. This looks much improved from my first stay. (I have stayed five times at this Hotel) There is now a Bistro menu in the evenings, I am looking forward to trying this on my next visit.”

“Visited The Mansion House in Holbeach to attended the Heritage festival at weekend at Sandringham. Stayed for 6 nights. Really lovely hotel, run by an amazing couple Sam & Richard. Nothing is a bother for them. They go above and beyond. Car park areas for approx 3 cars at hotel, but they also have another larger car park area essentially just around corner. Always got parked there too. We stayed in the Deluxe Double Rooms with Ensuite with wonderful showers. Really lovely...

Tattershall Lakes Country Park

Propiedad de 3.0 estrellas
Tattershall
7.6 de 10, Bueno, (94)
“The caravan was very clean and not what we expected at all. There was plenty of room on the inside for the 3year old to play and the wrap around decking let him run round outside without us having to keep an eye on him all the time. It is as also within walking distance of the complex which was nice. Overall we had a very nice few days, the only thing is most of the activities are closed on a Friday.”

Wrangle is mentioned in the Domesday Book of 1086 when it was spelt Weranghe but by 15th century it had been changed to Wranghill. There was almost certainly a Saxon church on the site in 1086 and the present church is based on the beautiful cathedrals of 12th century France. It is a Marshland church, ie predominantly perpendicular, but there are older parts as well. The arch on the east side of the tower and the south door are believed to be 1190s. The church was given with much land to Waltham Abbey, Essex in the time of Henry II (1154-89) – the priests of that period being supplied by Waltham Abbey. In the glass of the east window was once an inscription “Thomas de Wyversty, abbas de Waltham me fieri fecit” (the dates of his abbacy of Waltham are 1345-71) The church was rebuilt in the 1400s. St Mary & St Nicholas is built in late Norman and Early English style with later additions. It has a fine pulpit of the Elizabethan period and a tower with six bells. Wrangle was an important place in the 13th and 14th centuries when the church was built. In 1359 King Edward III needed a navy to invade France and Wrangle was asked to help. It sent one ship and eight men (Liverpool only sent five men). Although now a mile from the sea, in medieval times Wrangle Church sat next to a creek up which boats sailed from the Wash. The river has long since been silted up but the outline of the banks can still be seen in a field next to the church.
