“I stayed CityRest Fort only 6 hours to take a shower and short nap for catching a mid-night flight. I booked a bed in Shared 4 Beds Dormitory. I checked in at the front desk and went into the room... I noticed there was nobody in the room! The man at the front desk was nothing to tell me but he arranged a sort of private room for me! I was able to relax and rest very well. Thank you so, so much for your angement. I'll definitely come back to CityRest Fort when I come to Colombo next time.”

“Het hotel heeft geen lift! Er is veel achterstallig onderhoud, diverse zaken werken niet, bv. airconditioning, warmwatervoorziening, waaiers, lekkende douchecabines. De ligbedden bij het zwembad bestaan deels uit verrot hout, hetgeen gevaarlijk is. De financiële afrekening gebeurt nog op 19e eeuwse wijze (losse bonnetjes, een rekenmachientje) en de receptionisten spreken zeer slecht Engels. Kortom: een upgrade is dringend nodig.”

“Jätte trevlig och hjälpsam personal. Detta är inget för den kräsne. Stora rymliga rum. Sängarna.. vi sov på träplankor och en tunn skumgummimadrass som låter högt så fort man rör på sig. lyhört! Åka från hotellet med tuktuk till centrum kostade ca 250 rupee (ca 20kr) Vill du äta bra mat "sir lanka style" så finns det en restaurang som heter pilawoos alldeles runt hörnet. 5 stjärnor till maten där! Så billigt boende om man ska stanna en natt eller två så funkar detta utmärkt!”

“I recently visited Colombo for 5 days in October 2025 and stayed at 50 by the Sea - Had an excellent stay there and all my expectations were met - at times went above the expectations also. The apartment looks very new, is very well maintained and most importantly, its extremely clean. Ive visited Colombo many times and many times, I faced the issue of not so clean bathrooms at some residences - at 50 by the Sea, the bathrooms were so clean and neat that it looked like a 5 star hotel's...
