“An absolute gem. We loved the whole experience. Great little bar area where you can eat your own food & drink, & play cards at night We had the room on the first floor. Amazing views over the pagoda, town & bridge in the distance. Staff were fantastic- really helpful. We cooked a simple spaghetti meal, but bought breakfast in the morning. “Our stay at Shiomachi Roya in Tomonoura was one of the highlights of our trip to Japan. I was impressed by the renovations done to turn this old merchant house into an inn. I liked the design and decor. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful. Because this particular house (Roya) has only 4 rooms to stay in, the staff are located at another sister inn literally just around the corner, one minute away.
